Crowdsource Mapping

Over at Joe Pastry there’s a post about a crowdsource mapping project connected with humanitarian disasters. The Ebola epidemic is one of them, along with refugee movements, cholera outbreaks, and others. The people at Open Source Mapping take requests from organizations to have features traced on satellite images so that mapping software can tell response workers where roads are.

Definitely check out his post, since he does a much better job that I could do of explaining it.
